My concept for this cover was to portray the idea of counterfeit money, to show that what was being promised (money, financial freedom) was not what would be delivered (in cases of fraud).
I took the image of a $100 bill and I altered the face of Ben Franklin, so that he has a smirk on his face, as if he is in on the joke/fraud. I also showed the corner of the bill being lifted, to show that it was a counterfeit bill (the back is blank, and the stack of money underneath is just a stack of plain paper.")

I wanted to mix classic Christian imagery with a supernatural twist to fit the theme of the book. I started with the idea of the followers of Christ gathering around his cross. I arranged the silhouettes so that the negative space image of vampire fangs, with drops of blood.
The result is a design that, at first glance, looks traditionally Christian but with an ominous feel, and as the viewer looks closer, they notice the fangs and supernatural imagery.")

I created a design that could be customized for several books in the series, so that they would look distinct and also obviously in the same series. Bold color bars define the top and bottom, while icons are arranged in a custom shape for each book's theme, to make them cohesive and different at the same time.")

I studied numerous examples of old leather books as reference, and created this design so that, at a glance, it would look like an old book.
The gold lettering and graphics were designed to look aged and weathered, and also look like they had actually been pressed into real leather.
The serious-looking cover is meant to contrast with the humorous content of the book.")

In my design, I wanted to balance the simplicity of an icon with an image that felt older and well established, to give the image weight and a feeling that it was a real place, so I added some subtle gradients and texture. I replaced the frames of the windows with dollar signs to portray the idea of a financial education.")
