Érírí (meaning "thread" in Igbo) is a yarn business that connects makers to fibres and yarns with stories. We source from places where I have connections though work, relationships and life - Nordic countries, Scottish Islands, East to West Africa with the aim of selling the threads and telling the tales of mills, dyers, and traditional weavers. Think North European minimalism meets African earthy. Our target audience is crafters and makers who care about where their materials come from and value authentic connections and interesting stories about their purchase over generic curation. They appreciate good quality items but also appreciate the stories behind what they're buying such as the places, the fibre traditions, the relationships, interesting facts worth celebrating about the fibre and what they can create with it. They're likely experienced makers who see yarn as more than just pretty colours, and they're comfortable with paying a bit more for materials that have genuine meaning and provenance.

Please respect the cultural authenticity of this project. The accented spelling Érírí is not decorative - it's Igbo language reflecting the company's heritage and textile traditions. The logo should feel warm and grounded, not tokenistic. I'm open to creative interpretation within the colour palette and aesthetic direction I've outlined. The terracotta/ochre/cream palette is my attempt at articulating Northern European meets African earthy, but I would love to see your ideas for how to express understated but warm, cultural depth, and textile connections visually. The logo needs to work hard across different contexts such as tiny social media icons, product labels, website headers - so simplicity and clarity matter. I don't want an overly decorative or fussy design. This business is about relationships with textile traditions with the copy feeling like a conversation not curated diversity or marketing narratives. The design should reflect that honesty and substance.
