My new company was established on June 17th and we plan to commence operation on September 1st of 2016. Business outline We provide the following business services: 1. Publish web media on Japanese Sake 2. Seminars on Japanese sake 3. Selling Japanese sake in English and in other languages within the next 3 years. Design vision and objectives 1. I want the design and the matching font to be memorable. 2. A design that combines and portrays the traditional aspects of Japan while combining the innovative side of foreigners/English speakers. 3. Similar to 2 but the design doesn’t need to emphasize on Japanese sake (as the company name already indicates this). It can be a combination of existing cultural things that represent Sake culture or Japanese culture. 4. Please avoid and do not include any images of the Japanese national flag. The Japanese national flag is controversial among specific regions, so please avoid it. 5. Please avoid and do not include religious images. While Sake has been related to religion such as shintou (shrine) and Buddhism, we do not want any images relating to religion in our design to represent Sake culture. ========== 弊社は、本日6月17日設立したばかりの会社で実際に動き出すのは9月1日からです。業務内容は、①日本酒のＷＥＢメディア②日本酒のセミナー③日本酒の販売　を基本的に英語でスタートし、多言語化を3年以内に計画しています。よって、デザインの方針としては、①社名のフォント、それに付随するデザインで覚えることができるようにしたい。②日本の伝統と革新を外国人（English speaker）が感じられるようにしたい。③②に似ているがデザインから必ずしも日本酒を感じさせる必要はない（社名からわかるはずであるから）が、日本の伝統ある文化性を感じさせつつ、世界の日本酒となるため「日本」「日本」する必要はない。④日本の国旗をイメージさせるのは絶対にＮＧ。詳しくは下に記載します。

I'd like to explore the following colors: Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty. Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness. Greens: Growth, harmony and success.

Update - 2016-06-22: We want the design to encompass the soul of Japanese culture, while adding elements from an international perspective. We are looking for a design that will represent our company’s mission and vision: 1. Through JSE, we want to show the world the appeal of Japanese Sake through academic information. 2. To sell high quality Japanese sake using that information. Therefore, we want the the design made up by an icon and company name to be: 1. Simple 2. Traditional 3. Modern/Innovative 4. Linked to Japanese culture. To accomplish this, we currenty have 2 main ideas. 1. Design based on the “kiki-choko” - a traditional Japanese sake cup used specifically for tasting and evaluating sake. This is because: 1. The kiki-choko is used to evaluate the quality of sake, and we want to provide consumers a wider range of information and sake. 2. The kiki-choko and ochoko (Japanese sake cup), are a great representation of Japanese sake. 3. Japanese sake is unique unlike other alcohol around the world, where you can enjoy it cold or warm. The ochoko is a good representation of the drinking vessel used to enjoy Japanese sake. Often, the tokkuri is used for warm sake, while the funaguchi/funakuchi is used for cold sake. The chirori is less known. 2. Design based on Rice (optional) This is because Sake is made by rice and it represent’s the rich tradition of Japan. However, we do not want a messy design that is all over the place. The BBR and Enoteca designs are a benchmark of what we are looking for. ========== We would like two versions of the logo. One with text included and one without. My company is going to provide information of Sake as sake media as well as selling sake. Currently there are only 2 major sake media provided in English. So, I would like to give more authentic image than these competitors because the information I will provide is more academic. #1 Kurand http://kurand.jp/en/magazine/ #2 Sake times https://www.facebook.com/saketimes/info/?entry_point=page_nav_about_item&tab=page_info Therefore, the company logo should not be too casual with has some authenticity to it. It should not have too much Japanese image. The key words for logo are as follows 1. Simple 2. Traditional 3. Innovative 4. Academic 5. Japanese taste ※Not too much 6. Foreigners perception ※Since my company is aiming at foreign market, the concept of logo should be understandable among foreigners. 7. Natural 8. Stylish Name of my company The name of my company should be treated as a one word. It can be divided in two lines, but to avoid focusing on just the word of Sake. Simple and stylish ・Japan booth at the Milan expo Fusion of Japan and modern times ========== 文字ありとなしの２つのパターンのデザインを希望。Sake Media & Marchants 英語の酒メディアは現在、酒ＴＩＭＥＳ、クランドの2社のみです。彼らの提供する記事はいわるゆ一般人向け。私は、そこは担保しつつも、よりアカデミックな世界にも踏み込んだ内容にするつもりです。よって、カジュアルすぎず、若干のオーセンティックさをまとわせ、かといって肩肘を張らない柔軟が混じっている雰囲気のロゴとしたいです。また、デザイナーは外国人と日本人の双方を希望します。外国人、特に英語圏の人達の感性をとりいれつつ、偏った日本感（にんじゃ、サムライ、芸者、ふじやま）といったものにデザイン性を支配されず、日本のよさを感じるものであってほしい。決して複雑でなく、極力シンプルで、かつそのシンプルさ故に目立つという両面を兼ね備えて欲しいです。 まだ、日本酒のことは世界ではほとんど知られていない。その知られていない魅力をしっかりと伝える、そういった思いを載せてロゴの作成をお願いします。 繰り返しになりますが、キーワードとしては、 １．シンプル ２．伝統 ３．革新 ４．アカデミック ５．多少の柔らかさ（１－４から敷居が高すぎない印象を与えないために） ６．日本を感じる ７．外国人視点（英語圏） ８．ナチュラル ９．お洒落 選んだ色は特にこだわりはありませんが、目立つが品質感のある色としました。 イメージ：Berry brothers & Rudd(イギリスワイン商)※かなり本格的 　　　　　 Enoteca　※ちょうどいい品質感 Alpaca(ワイン　シンプルでお洒落) 　 　　　　　　ミラノ万博の日本館のイメージ（和と現代の融合）
