How AlexanderT started their web page design journey
We are a start-up company and have had no previous identities. This web design contest is related to our logo contest. We are looking for a business to consumer website that positively speaks to active, health-oriented people yet also reflects the medical/scientific foundation of our product. The website should be dynamic, positive, warm, professional and simple to navigate. We intend to involve the contest winner for follow-up design work to complete the website. We had an initial take at possible layouts (https://download.yousendit.com/Y2ov…cExIRGc9PQ). When working on this project, please use this raw design as a starting point, refine it and apply different color schemes. If we like your style, we would like to engage you further in the ongoing development of the web-offering.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are working on a web-offering where customers can order personalized multivitamin capsules, based on a proprietary algorithm that takes into account their medical and lifestyle data. We are very passionate about quality supplements and want to bring the level of personalization that is currently reserved for pro-athletes and hyper health-conscious people to the everyday consumer in a convenient way. We are now looking for a website design. We want it to convey passion, an active lifestyle, health, warmth and happiness but also, and this is important as a differentiation, professionalism. In contrast to other vitamin shops out there, we are highly scientific and based on medical research.
A professional and warm company website that positively speaks to active, health-oriented people yet also reflects the medical/scientific foundation of the product and conveys a sense of caring. The website must be pleasant to the eye, not too ‘in your face’. We have tried to be reasonably specific since we think that this will help you design, but please don’t feel discouraged to use your creativity and overrule us. We have linked to a PDF file with an initial draft version of 5 of our website pages. We recommend the designer to use the PDF as an indicator for the functionalities and tab structure we are looking for. Please feel free to use this only as a starting point! We would like the whole webpage to be seen in the screen, so no scroll bar on the site of the page. We have been looking at the templates on http://www.templatemonster.com and found some further inspiration:
Text box design:
We like rounded text boxes that have a colored background for the title (grey or another color from our palette), and either a white or fading colored background for the text (see template 4393). We like the box frame shown around the pictures in http://www.offerpal.com/merchants.php or as template 1682. Not all text boxes need to be the same size but no wide screen text boxes please.
We would like a white and light grey website with two additional colors chosen from the ones shown in the http://www.templatemonster.com templates 6891 (but without dark background), 19286 and 17928 (‘old’ green, orange and light blue).
Template 5739 (Without the blue bar and the apple logo’s) and also no wide
Alternative tab structure:
Template 6767 (we would prefer it vertical and on the right side)
• Scroll bar for the web pages
• Too clinical
• Overly complex
• More than 2 dominant colors on top of white and different grey shades
