starbits needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 11 designs submitted by 8 freelance designers.
National Night Out Superstore - nnosuperstore.com
The purpose of the web page is to sell branded products. Every year the branding changes and we need a new look for the new year. See our new logo for the "personality" we are trying to get across. The winning design will be the one which best integrates the new logo with the new page design. Since the new logo is on every product, it must be large enough to be clearly visible in your design, but the goal of the site is to have people buy items.
Police departments and other community organizations, most of whom are familiar with the site from prior years, and simply want ease of use.
The branded products need to be the main focus of the site. They are generated from a database and need to be in a grid, so the program can display them automatically. Most items will be the same as those shown on the present site, http://www.nnosuperstore.com. They will of course have the new logo on them, but item images are not available at this time, only the new logo is available (see the attached files). You may use images from the current site if you want to show individual items, or you may simply use blank boxes if you prefer.
Allow a spot for one "featured item" (which item it will be is unknown at this time).
You are to design one page only (the home page, with all the items). There must be a "buy now" button for each item, and buttons for "Ordering info" "View Cart" and "Checkout". You must tell me what action (color change, highlighting, or whatever) is to take place "on hover", when the mouse is over an item.
The winning design must be provided in a form readable by GIMP. GIMP can read jpg, png, gif, and most photoshop files.
