Animal & Pet
We offer dog products (collars, leashes). We make all of our products in the USA, which is very important to us. We also donate 10% of sales to support shelter dogs. So the core of our business is helping the American economy and dogs in need.
Our current website has a landing page that does not match the inner pages layouts and styles. We’d like to change things so that the new homepage and inner pages have same themes (headers, footers, nav bars, etc). So what we’d like you to do is design us a new homepage whose theme can be applied to all of the other inner pages. I’ve attached a mockup of what our new homepage’s layout should be. This is intended to show you the different sections we’d like on the homepage. The theme of this matches the current theme we’ve applied to our website’s inner pages. What we’re not happy with is the graphics and visuals on the website. The theme is bland and does not utilize any eye candy effects such as gradients, shadows, hover states, etc. We would like to give our site a more professional look, one that users enjoy staring at. We also want to make sure users are enticed to buy our products. Right now our website looks flat. We’d like it to look more 3-dimensional. We’d also like to make sure all the buttons, and graphics look sharp. As you can see ours are very basic. If we are happy with the homepage you design for us (and the general theme to be applied to the website), we may ask you to help us redesign our blog and some other pages. Whoever we decided has the best design will get to work on these additional projects. For these additional pages we will work one-on-one with the winning designer. We also have projects relating to t-shirt design, etc that we will give to the winning designer. A lot of future work at stake here.
Homepage: As mentioned before we want you to take our current layout of the homepage mockup I attached and spice it up. Whatever them you apply to the homepage should be able to be used on the inner pages. So any headers, nav bars, footers, etc, should be made so they can work on any inner page. On top of designing the general theme, we'd like you to spice up the logos, links, graphics, etc of the home pages content section. All we're looking for is a face lift to make things pop.
What to avoid
Our current color scheme is nice, but it needs visual effects. Right now the colors and borders are all flat solids. We also are not thrilled with the background (repeating paw prints). We like the idea behind this, but again it's too visually bland. You can keep our general color scheme, just spice it all up.
We currently run our website on drupal. We have a developer we have built a good relationship with and like working with. That said if 99designs can implement the design changes easily we would be open to hiring you for a one time website facelift. Given that our current layout in terms of where elements are won't change much, the only thing we need is to change styles and update images/graphics. Should be pretty painless. All the files we receive from the designers should be in vector format. If we hire 99 designers to implement design changes, we want the winning web designer to work directly with the 99 design coders to get the files in formats that can be used in coding. Basically we don't want to get stuck manipulating any files in photoshop/illustrator. - Attached is logo file (Full Name.pdf)
