cozette got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Do a cool new website design for an environmental start up
Check out cozette's Web page design contest…
Removement will sell subscriptions to remove CO2 from the atmosphere on our website. We find the best projects that remove CO2 and put together a portfolio of projects for our customers. When our customers connect our carbon removal service to their CO2 emissions, they become carbon neutral or even positive if they buy more removal that they emit.
Playful with a serious tone.
Section 1 - Overview [Nice looking and brief description where the customer still understands what we do and sell] Logo and an easy way to subscribe (see side bar with ”book” on thecollective.com. Headline: “Subscribe to carbon removal” Payoff: “Cleaner atmosphere = An existing tomorrow/future/generation...” Section 2 - Why carbon removal? [Here we will explain why carbon removal is important and how it works] Carbon removal is the process of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and locking it away for decades, or longer. This could slow, limit, or even reverse climate change — but it is not a substitute for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, that needs to be done too. It’s critical to also remove some of the CO2 that’s already in the air and oceans. Nature can help. For example, we can plant trees, they do the job, but it is not feasible to plant enough trees to rely on them as the only solution. So other solutions and new technologies will be essential too. That is why we put together a portfolio of the best solutions for carbon removal. How does it work to remove CO2? Why is it important? How is it different to what all the “others” are doing. Longer explanation in a future sub-page. Section 2 - Blog Picture thumbnails - opens when clicked for full blog post. Potentially a page opens on top of the picture for the blog post text, that can then be closed (i.e. there is no page reload) Section 3 - Methods for carbon removal [Here we list some of the predominant methods for carbon removal - we’d love to see these appear on a horizontal scroll so that you see only one at a time and then scroll right to see the next] All our chosen projects remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Below is a description of key available methodologies for carbon removal. As new methods emerge, we will add them to our portfolio. Afforestation/reforestation involves planting or replanting forests over large areas. These new forests absorb carbon as they grow, with the rates and other effects depending on the mix of trees being planted. Forests would sequester the captured carbon for as long as they remain standing, which means that, as with other biological methods of carbon removal, the climate benefits are reversible. Soil carbon sequestration refers to a number of different practices for increasing the amount of carbon stored in soils, especially agricultural soils. This method can also be combined with bioenergy if energy crops are grown on the fields. Prominent examples include no-till agriculture, manuring, and cover crop rotation. Soil carbon sequestration methods are already in use and ready to scale up, but key challenges include encouraging widespread adoption and ensuring long-term maintenance of the practices to keep the carbon in the ground over time. Other methods (text to be added, we will not overwhelm you here) Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage Biochar Coastal “blue carbon” Direct air capture and carbon storage Enhanced mineralization Section 4 - Contribute to a portfolio of great carbon removal solutions [Here we describe the process where we find the best projects for carbon removal and add them to our portfolio] We constantly look for the best solutions out there for carbon removal. We believe that there is no one silver bullet to solving the climate crisis, but that a combination of different solutions will together make the necessary change happen. Some solutions may be highly efficient but at a high cost per tonne, while others may be highly cost efficient but with limited opportunity to scale really big. Yet other solutions may provide an excellent long term opportunity, and the support this year is what will make them carry on to develop a highly scalable solution in 5 years although current costs are comparatively high. We therefore build a portfolio of solutions. At the end of each month all contributions are split in the different focus areas and between initiatives within each area. Our current focus: 20% Reforestation 40% Carbon removal in farming (divided into several individual initiatives) 20% Direct air capture 20% 2-5 innovative yet currently cost-inefficient but highly promising solutions Note that our current focus is revised at least quarterly as new solutions emerge and market dynamics change. Section 5 - Your contribution [Here the customer gets to choose their level of monthly contribution] Here there will be a carbon footprint calculator, where customers can calculate their footprint and then choose how much to subscribe to every month. Section 6 - Certification [This section explains how we quality assure the projects] Our quality assurance method:: Projects remove carbon Verifiers quantify removals and [re]movement qualifies projects and verifiers You pay for certified removals We only select projects that use verifiable methods for carbon removal, and where a third party verifier has verified any carbon removals that will be purchased on behalf of the [re]movement community. Section 7 - Footer (End section) [This is the end section with a FAQ, some legals, and other things appropriate for the bottom piece. Social media links, contacts etc.]
What to avoid
We have attached colors that we would like to work with and our logo.
We would like to start with a single page scrollable site. With possible pop ups like a side menu (see thecollective) and scrollable to the side. We will potentially add sub-pages later. The page should be responsive and take in consideration that main traffic comes from smartphones.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their web page design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
cozette collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
