LabYak.com is the first fully supported question-and-answer engine designed exclusively by and for life scientists. LabYak.com will enable a global community of life scientists to pose questions and have them answered by knowledgeable subject experts. LabYak.com supports users in developing specific areas of expertise and building lively communities among scientists who share the same interests and specializations.
LabYak.com is a niche web-based communication tool designed for a global life science community. The target audience is budding scientists between the ages of 21 and 40. They are most likely graduate or post-doctoral students who are in the process of building their areas of expertise. Both genders are equally represented. Older, more established scientists are also a potential audience, but they are most likely to be late adopters, so the focus is on a younger demographic for the time being.
The LabYak user is intelligent and well educated, but not as tech-savvy as comparable students in some other disciplines. Life scientists, as a group, generally tend to be methodical, orderly and unwilling to try new things.
Of course, we are interested in having both the sides designed. Only one side will have the individual's name, title, and contact information. Both sides should have the logo, the company name, and the tagline.
The logo is attached. We designed the logo so that it looks like a "Y" and could potentially form part of the company name. However, it doesn't have to and we would be interested in seeing designs that is independent of the name as well.
PLEASE USE THE ATTACHED LOGO, TAGLINE, AND COLOR PALETTE IN YOUR DESIGN.
The tagline is:
The World's Biggest Lab
Color: Please refer to the attached jpg that is an example of the color palette that we are using.
