Large Postcard for Safara Durra, a new Furniture Company
Check out Sacahill's Print or packaging design contest…
Safara Durra, a new furniture company, marries the modern with the antique in our unique table designs. We call it "Conversation" Furniture. The company is the result of an enduring love of beautiful doors and windows, born from numerous trips and purchases around the world, and a lifelong appreciation of great modern furniture design. Doors, unlike any other architectural or design feature, hold a special place in our psyche. Doors ask questions-What lies beyond? Who went through these doors? What have these doors seen? People throughout time have adorned and decorated doors in recognition of their special place in our lives and in our minds. At Safara Durra we literally search the world for special doors and windows-pieces that have meaning. Pieces that evoke an emotion. Pieces that present more questions than they answer. A Safara Durra table is not just a piece of furniture-it’s a mode of transportation-to another place and another time. Like a great frame compliments and enhances a great painting, we designed our tables so that they are beautiful in their own right while simultaneously showcasing the door, window or ceiling panel encased inside. Together the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. That is the copy from our upcoming website. To describe what we do in less flowing terms, we take antique doors and put them into modern tables of our own designs. We dont make tables from doors, rather think of the door as the piece of art that is then surrounded by a beautiful frame-the table. Each one is meant to compliment the other. You can see how this works in the uploaded photos.
What's your vision?
We need a large "postcard" brochure designed for mailing to interior designers and architects to launch our company and introduce our new tables to the industry. This will be the firs time any of them have heard of us and the first time they have seen our products, which are unlike anything else available on the market today. The brochure needs to highlight both the distinctly different table as well as showcase some of the more interesting doors that can be put into the table. The brochure should have an area for copy to describe the company and the product but largely use pictures of the table and the doors to tell the story. the post card brochure sizes can be found at- http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/images/template_files/Vistaprint_MailingServices.pdf We plan to use vista print for our printing services.
I have uploaded the tear sheet (product spec sheet in home furnishing industry lingo), several pages from our upcoming website, our logo, product photos and lots of door photos. From the product spec sheet and website pages, you can see our website design style. I have uploaded alot of doors so that you can select the ones you think will work best for the brochure. You can use whole doors or parts of doors as you like to achieve the best design.
