Bridge to Profit
I'm a relatively new author (this is my third book). My passions are writing and entrepreneurship, and helping entrepreneurs through my writing. I love innovation and competition, but never at the expense of integrity and professionalism.
This book is targeted at construction contractors, from small, one-man businesses, to larger ones with dozens or hundreds of employees. The target audience is not typically receptive to catchy, cheesy, flashy marketing. Trust is everything, and a professional image must be portrayed from the get-go to even get a chance at marketing to them.
I am fairly open to ideas. I'm no designer (far from it) but I will attach my novice attempt at designing a cover so you can at least get an idea of what I'm envisioning.
The target audience is male. "Manly" colors and designs would be best, but I'm open to ideas. I just want a contractor to look at it and be compelled to give it a gander. For what it's worth, I like blues.
This is a professional book that should include no dollar signs, flashy fonts, or the like.
Book to be offered as an audio set as well, hence the dvd case cover and cd label.
CD label doesn't necessarily need to include the cover photo, unless it works. I'm attaching an example of one that I think looks cool.
Book dimensions are 7.5 x 9.25, with full bleed cover 8 x 9.75. Not sure about the spine width yet, because the book is not finished, so I don't know how many pages. But, you can use a 200-ish page paperback as a reference point.
I do want graphics and .psd files included so I can manipulate later.
A final note: I am planning to write more books around the Bridge to Profit brand targeted at additional verticals (e.g. Bridge to Profit: Success Strategies of Today's Top Business Owners etc.), to include books, audios, web sites and other marketing pieces. So, while I can't guarantee anything, I certainly hope to give the winning designer much more work in the near future.
Thank you very much!!
