What's your vision?
Before you submit, please check out the Pinterest board I set up to give you an idea of the type of style we are looking for in the design. We want a very specific kind of artsy look and I assembled some design examples: http://www.pinterest.com/madcapbt/design-style/ 1. DVD COVER: FRONT - BACK - SPINE. We already have a concept for a cover (which we are attaching in a jpg format) but need help making it "pop" and look more professional. -The aesthetic we are looking for is less of a child/cartoon/juvenile aesthetic and more of a hip/NPR/retro aesthetic. Fonts and colors should reflect this. -In particular we feel the font lacks punch - we would like a retro, hand made feel for fonts. -We do like the color scheme on our website http://www.puppyculture.com we are thinking of something at least similar to that. I strongly recommend you guys drive around our website and watch the video to get a feeling for where we're coming from. -Feel free to clean up the puppy image if you feel it would work better that way. If you want any of these elements in a photoshop or Illustrator format contact us and we will send them to you. There will be 3 DVDs in the set (therefore the spine can be pretty "fat"). 2. ROUND INTERNAL LABEL WITH HOLE FOR DVD: Printing label (with hole in the middle for the DVD). -Front cover will contain the elements and words in the attached example. - We have attached a PDF of the text for the back cover which you can combine with whatever elements or images you feel will make it work. Regarding the back cover, The first lines of the paragraphs should be in bold as they are on the PDF. This means you may not have room for many photos on the back and perhaps not even room to put the puppy culture logo on the back but that's OK, I think.
You can visit the website http://www.puppyculture.com to see a clip from the film, learn more about the project and get a feeling for our aesthetics. The front cover should have the elements of the puppy illustration, the heart, and some DNA. We are attaching some extra photos for the back which you are free to use if you think they will work in well. Update: I'm attaching three images labeled Examples 1, 2, and 3 which will illustrate the kind of look and feel I'm hoping for on the cover.
