STG Systems, Inc.
STG is a technology consulting company with strong roots in the hospitality industry. When we started out several years ago we would work on just about any project that came our way, as many young companies do, but now that we're older and wiser we're refocusing on our core strengths. If you visit our website you'll see we offer everything from web hosting to networking to full blown automation systems in 4,000 room hotels. We are dropping the low margin stuff and focusing on networking and building automation systems for hotels. 1400 characters isn't really enough to explain what exactly that means, but think "smart hotel rooms" with touch screens, lighting controls, drape controls, electronic locks, automated mini bars, and so on.
We are not your local small business computer guy. We are industry professionals that bridge the divide between the construction world, the IT world, and the hotel operations world. We wear many different hats and are looking for a strong logo that represents us well.
Primarily people in the hospitality industry, from operations executives to engineering managers to IT guys. Think lots of meetings with lots of people and handshaking and exchanging of business cards. We want a logo that will look great on that business card and won't get lost in the shuffle.
There will be a website overhaul at some point but that's more of a fact of life than a real marketing tool - most of our business is word of mouth and face to face interaction.
Colors are nice, just don't go crazy. The logo will be primarily used on business cards and polo shirts (usually black or dark blue) - so keep printing costs in mind when choosing colors. If there are two color schemes - one for website and printing use and one for shirts - that would be ok.
Simple is good. It doesn't need to be busy to make it look like you put a lot of work into it - we appreciate good design, we just can't do it ourselves.
Maybe all text, maybe a nice clean graphic, you tell me. You don't need to spell out our whole name but it should at least have the STG part.
None of that futuristic techy blocky font stuff please.
Prefer some kind of vector or line drawing, something that can be resized - EPS and SVG are good. (Forgot this in the original brief, sorry.)
