MikeP3 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
StonePiles needs a new logo
Check out MikeP3's Logo design contest…
StonePiles is a company that has a target market of National/State Parks and city tourism. We want to be social conscious ("green"). We're thinking the branding should convey respect and appreciation of natural beauty. We're developing a way for people to receiving messages from the National/State Parks on their cell phones by being close to our product that will be positioned in certain areas. The devices will be able to tell the person about the location their standing at when they get close to our "Stone PIles". We like the designs of REI, Patagonia, etc. A simply way to think about our product is: you're hiking and you walk up to a sign overlooking a valley. You touch your cell phone on the sign and it download information about the valley. What is a stone pile: People use them to mark hiking trails, just as you would use flagging tape on tree limbs. Stone piles are a little bit easier on the eye than florescent ribbons hanging everywhere. You can find lots of pictures of them online. Here's just one shot I found: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shampoo_cam/4667849334/in/photostream/ http://www.superstock.co.uk/stock-photos-images/1760-6832
