rob_t_lee got their new logo design by running a design contest:
SANS DFIR Courses Coin
Check out rob_t_lee's Logo design contest…
We are looking at designing 2 sides of a Challenge Coin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin (USE DESIGN TEMPLATE - BLANK COIN) We are looking to incorporate 8 previously created DFIR coins to represent the full curriculum. We have two different design ideas. Design Idea #1 - 4 coins on each side. We want the attached logos inside of a two-sided coin. We are open to designs that use the full coin image, or just the interior image. We do need specific course coins on each side. Please include the below: Side 1 - Please include the text "Incident Response" and these images (attached) - FOR508, FOR572, FOR578 & FOR610 Side 2 - Please include the text "Digital Forensics" and these images (attached) - FOR500, FOR518, FOR526 & FOR585 Please feel free to incorporate the full coin image or just the interior image on each coin...we'd really like to see some creativity on how these are placed on each side. We don't have any particular color combinations in mind, but gravitate to darker blacks and greys with little pops of color. Design Idea #2 - No color - full silver coin. Have all 8 images on one side of the coin (possibly lose some detail). We would still like them grouped together with the matching text (as above). Top would read "Digital Forensics" and these images (attached) - FOR500, FOR518, FOR526 & FOR585. Bottom would read "Incident Response" and these images (attached) - FOR508, FOR572, FOR578 & FOR610 (really bad sketch attached - and please note I'd like additional detail). Then just include the DFIR logo on the other side of the coin.

Uros created a fantastic design that captured exactly what we were looking for to represent our brand. He was responsive to requests for additional renderings and extremely cooperative in transferring all files. He was a pleasure to work with on this project.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
