Century Hall and Gardens
Thank you for considering my design contest.
"Throughout the last century, our grandparents
and parents celebrated life and their life events
in this historic place--and now you can!
Century Hall is ideal for ceremonies, receptions,
business meetings, seminars, fundraisers,
dances, theatre/comedy, holiday parties,
reunions, bazaars or any other special occasion.
The Historic Hall:
Built in 1900, Century Hall is adorned with the gabled grace,
simplicity, and beauty of the craftsman style.
The hardwood floors, cathedral ceiling, shiplap
cladding, and sash windows have been beautifully preserved. The hall accommodates 250 guests and seats up to 150 guests banquet-style. It adjoins a large raised stage and a spacious, utilitarian kitchen/service area.
The Garden:
Brick pathways meander through natural arbors and native flora. Mature trees and mossy boulders form a shaded grass amphitheatre that will accommodate 250 guests.
Century Hall offers historic value at yesteryear prices."
Brides, grooms, event planners, corporate planners, foundations, arts groups, social clubs, etc.
Please review the attached file (preliminary logo design.doc). This preliminary logo design evokes the historic site and thus has the effect of reinforcing the brand that is the historic site. For that reason, please use it as your guide. I think the logo background should be a pale historic green (evokes the building color--see photos). I like the font (Poor Richard) but I would consider others (billhead, late 19th Century and early 20th century fonts). The dark green scroll/banner will contain the text “and Gardens” or “& Gardens” and the scroll will be a visual representation of a garden with fancy foliage. The white letter “H” will be enlarged vertically and possibly horizontally and will be transformed into a sash window (without muntins) and with (grainy? three-dimensional?) white trim. Yellow "Kincade-like" light will diffuse through the window and invite the viewer within? The scroll will overlay and obscure the trim at the top of the window so as to suggest the letter "H"? White daisies or a window flower box will border the underside of the word “Hall” / the bottom of the window? Maybe the outside border could be white shasta daisies? Think period design.
