PFA needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 145 designs submitted by 31 freelance designers.
To design a new logo and, in turn, letterhead and business cards for Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), the exclusive representative body of Australia's elite professional footballers and one of the most influential organisations in Australian football (soccer).
Professional Footballers Australia (PFA)
Celebrating 15 years as “the players’ champion”, the Australian Professional Footballers’ Association Inc is about to rebrand itself as “Professional Footballers Australia” (PFA).
The PFA is the exclusive representative body of Australia’s 450 elite men and women professional footballers who play for Australia’s national teams – the Socceroos (men) and the Matildas (women) – and in some of the most popular football leagues in the world, including the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A and Australia’s own Hyundai A-League.
In addition to negotiating the collective bargaining agreements for its members for when they play for Australia or in the A-League, the PFA provides a range of highly valuable individual services, including legal representation, contract negotiation, insurance, educational assistance and retirement benefits. These services are designed to maximize the time players spend in the game and to help them prepare for life after football.
Philosophically, the PFA is committed to building football into a better game, developing its members both as players and people, and ensuring football makes a difference to the community. The PFA is also an organisation with a global outlook, and is a leading member of FIFPro (http://www.fifpro.org), the world players’ union, with the responsibility to drive the development of FIFPro’s and the players’ voice in Asia.
- PFA
- Must be effective when reproduced at various sizes
- Logo that captures the PFA values such as a sense of strength, professionalism, collectivism and tradition
- One option may be to look at modernising the existing logo so that it retains its heritage but is a more contemporary logo - refer http://www.pfa.net.au
- We would like the art in vector format
Avoid a harlequin football as these are common in football logos but are dated to the 1970's.
