We received excellent, artistic, original designs by Giu. The designs were nicely shown on marketing collateral which was helpful.
How Liz V. started their logo design journey
I am small home builder. My husband and I have decided to branch off to specializing in "green" and energy efficient homes. I want my clients to know they are getting a professional company/builder who cares about the impact my product has on the environment, as well as overall quality and comfort of living in one of my homes.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My homes will be directed at a wide range of home buyers, whether it is green on a budget or all out custom, including:
1. "Earth friendly" first and/or second time buyers looking to lesson their footprint on the environment.
2. "Empty nesters" who may want to scale back and are looking for homes that are more energy efficient, budget friendly and less cost to maintain.
3. "Custom" buyers who can afford to make the home green from top to down.
I am looking for a simple sleek design logo that can grow as my company grows. The logo will be used in print (ads, business cards), web and signage. I would like a "graphic" type logo to stand out in ads etc. But "signature/text" logos also appeal to me as most Fortune 500 companies do not have fussy complicated logos. I would be greatly interested in something that would allow me to use just the text part of the logo when needed.
~ I am open to color options. I am currently using a cobalt blue with white. I am not opposed to green but it does not need to be the focal color either. No "girly" colors.
~ I would like something sleek, slightly edgy/modern but not trendy. I want the logo to grow with my company as it grows.
~As for signature logos I favor YvesSaintLaurent the most as it comes across classy and timeless but not over the top fancy. I also like Disney and Cartier because they are clean, simple, very recognizable.
~NO stock images or clip art. Please NO "3 roof tops over the name" as every other builder already has.
~My husband did like the idea of a leaf instead of a puff of smoke coming out of a chimney with a removable tagline of "because green is better".
I am not opposed to this if it looks professional and both the graphic and tagline can removed when needed.
