Our newly acquired 2-city-block property needs a logo. It contains buildings constructed in the early 1900s in downtown Birmingham, AL. We have given it the name "Hardware Park" for two reasons. 1) To honor the former longtime occupant which was a major hardware (tools) distributor and 2) To suit our new purpose of relocating our engineering firm to the property plus housing like businesses in design, prototyping, testing, revisions, small scale manufacturing to mid-size manufacturing.
The collective intent is to "make" innovate products. Real, tangible, physical products ("hard" ware, as opposed to software and services). Typical equipment used: CNC mills and lathes, water jet cut tables, 3D printers, laser cutters, etc. Example products developed here would be medical devices and technologies, robotic technologies and automation, new consumer products, etc.
We envision a collaborative facility where multiple companies and individuals collectively complement each other in these areas: 1) Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing 2) Entrepreneurial Hub, Business Incubation, Product Development 3) Education, Manufacturing workforce skills development, hands-on training.
Considerations for the logo lean towards (but certainly not limited to):
• Clean, simplistic, but creative designs
• Possibly a symbol, graphic, design element and text would could be recognizable when used together or independently
• Perhaps (but certainly not limited to) to two contrasting colors (easily seen from a distance)
o We do have a very tall sign (photo in reference images) where the logo will likely be used to display to interstate traffic
Our team has started a Pinterest board collecting logos and images liked by our team members, customers, and partners, as well as images capturing the business of the facility's primary tenant, Fitz-Thors Engineering.
New Update for design:
In an effort not to waste anyone's time. If you are submitting a design that is some combination of the letter H and the letter P.... Please look at the top rated designs, if yours is not superior in creativity or depth (while still being simplistic) please do not submit a design. I think our team has seen ever single generic combination of having the letters H and P together that we are become numb to it.
Seeing that there is less than 24 hours left in the design, we will simply decline designs with this focus. We are not trying to be negative, but want to be realistic and direct about considering new designs. Lets please see some newer ideas or please don't waste your time if your "design" is overlaying an H on top of a P.
Thanks for your professionalism!
Keep the new, creative designs coming!!!
We do appreciate those of you who are reading this and designing based on these request!
