DomainFace
We're a small startup company about to launch our web-based software through a major market player in our industry, which means our product is going to be in front of the eyes of thousands of potential customers very quickly. We're launching in February, so we need to get our logo sorted out asap.
Our target audience are tech savvy, know marketing online and are the types who not only create digital products and content, but also know how to buy, sell and trade in this space. They've seen thousands of logos over the years in the tech space and aren't going to be impressed by a logo that looks like it was made five or ten years ago.
"DomainFace"
You can choose the colours. Please go for bright and colourful, preferably solid colours. Dark, oppressive logos and gradients are less likely to win our attention. Design for a clean rectangular area on a white background.
Unless you *really* know what you're doing, 3D logo widgets aren't likely to be what we're looking for.
Please no symbols that simply look like a "D" preceding the word "Domain" - they always end up looking like we're doubling up on D's.
The logo will need to fit nicely into the top-left corner of a white background, which means sticking a clunky symbol on *top* of the words DomainFace is likely to make it look like it doesn't fit. What we're interested in would likely be able to mostly fill a rectangular space. Again, take this with a grain of salt if you're highly talented and know what you're doing ;)
If you're going to use a symbol as part of the logo, please have a reason for doing so, don't just pull a symbol from a library of stock logo symbols you've created. We don't want people saying "What's the symbol mean?" and not being able to give an intelligent response.
Orbits, atoms and swishes are sooo 1995, and will most likely be eliminated without comment.
