Brand new law firm. We intend to grow into full-service firm.
Name: ChildersLaw, LLC (currently, our printed logo features the "Law" portion of the name in reverse type with dark blue background, use of light-blue-greys and lower case for "llc" "phone" "fax" "url" etc).
Our key characteristics: Smart (as in intelligent); Open and Accessible; Trustworthy and Diligent. We make sure that everything we produce is perfect *and great looking* before we file it or send it out. We compete on quality of service and not price.
Featured Areas of Law (at present): For individuals: * Complex Individual Bankruptcy * Personal Injury / Defamation * Civil Litigation. For business: * Software Law * Business Bankruptcy * Contracts
We intend to compete against entrenched competitors who've been around for a long time. Therefore, we may need imagery that conveys solidity and establishment. We're smarter, faster, better. We use tech a LOT better than these older, slower competitors do, so we are more nimble and efficient. We do online research better than anyone. So, we want to convey our "high tech" focus.
Both individuals and business customers. For our personal bankruptcy practice, we are specializing in helping high net-worth individuals with complex needs (i.e. *not* a cookie-cutter service).
This project would have been for a full image/stationery/business card package except this site's guidelines appear to prohibit all of that in a single contest. But keep it in mind as you design our logo; we'll want to carry the design forward very quickly in a phase II for stationery and our web page.
We have a nice color laser and would like to print some stationery (not least because our Orlando office address is not fixed yet).
Deliverable: please provide the vector art plus jpg's in three sizes / resolutions for use in-office. Also a black and white version.
Please no cliche clip-art (scales of justice etc).
Colors: I like blues and greens, but feel free to be creative outside these colors. We will prefer a provider who can offer us a thoughtful color scheme that can be carried forward to our image package, website, and future materials we may develop.
I'm looking for a design that will cause folks who look at it to be thinking about us later that day.
I tend to subscribe to the theory that a business card should provoke a comment.
UPDATE: Here's a site with a large number of sample designs that may provide inspiration. Under no circumstances should you copy any design you find here. Link: http://www.scorpiondesign.com/Our_Portfolio.aspx
UPDATE 2: In general, I'm not a fan of the separate logo + firm name. I think that I'd prefer to see the visual elements tied together with the text. However I'm not ruling anything out - I will consider all designs unless otherwise explicitly stated.
