The Dojo (http://www.bondidojo.com.au)
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
We are a brazilian jiu-jitsu ,muay thai martial arts dojo operating in Bondi Junction (Eastern Suburbs of Sydney Australia). The Dojo itself has been open for over a year as a Roots Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu association Dojo. (http://www.brazilianjiujitsu.com.au)
While we will have our own image, we will still be a Roots franchise and will need to include the logo discretely on all our marketing materials.
ABOUT US/WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
We are the only full time gym in Australia.
Our team is comprised of World Champions, Asian Champions, and Australian Champions.
We are real. We are what we teach. We live the lifestyle. We teach cutting edge techniques with the values of a traditional Dojo.
Our style of teaching is different, anyone can be a champion. We live clean, eat clean, and build character in our students.
Our nutritionist cooks meals that we share after class, we take care of every stage of development.
Respect. Honour. Family. Loyalty is the Roots motto.
Maximum efficient use of energy, and mutual prosperity for self and others is the old Judo motto.
I would like to work with a designer on other projects too after the logo is complete, flyers, websites, business cards, newsletters, T shirts.
More then targeting our audience, we want something that symbolises our team.
That being said...
Our primary market is males between 16 and 30. They typically work in the fitness, service and construction industry with many being students and travellers. Many have seen UFC and want to try training like these athletes.
Our secondary market is parents (for the children’s classes ages 6-16). These are Eastern Suburbs parents with a high disposable income and an eye for quality. They see martial arts as a way to teach their children discipline and respect, as a fashionable after-school activity for their children and as a way to get their kids out of the house after school.
Our smallest market is females aged 16-30 looking for something different to do for their health and fitness. Most of these girls have done martial arts/boxing before and hence know what to expect. They come to us based on our reputation for quality instruction.
We want to develop a distinctive image not just for our logo, but also for each of our programs. We envisage the programs to become synonymous with our dojo – to the point where the design and presentation of the words/poster immediately identifies the program as belonging to our dojo. Our programs are JUNIOR JIU JITSU, BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU, MIXED MARTIAL ARTS and MUAY THAI.
Though, the focus for the gym is first and foremost Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, all other programs are secondary and are feeder programs to the Jiu Jitsu.
I would like to build an identity, not just a logo. I will most likely be using all sepia tone photographs for our websites and advertising, to try to get a synonymous feel for our brand.
THE LOGO, COLOURS AND FONTS
The new name for our dojo will be THE DOJO
We want to keep the colours clean and earthy: white, black, earthy/rusty red, pale green tatami mats, have attached picture)
I have a company (dogi) the logo is attached. This feel is nice, I like it. But it needs to be able to stand alone on a T shirt and look great.
We want to keep the design modern but with an old school feel, perhaps a Japanese or western medieval influence.
Have also attached a picture of the Dojo, and of some of us competing and fighting to get a feel for our gym. These will most likely be used in our advertising or websites.
Need text based logo. Symbol is ok too.
