How BWG Public Library started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library is a single branch library serving a population of 26,000. The library will be moving to a new, 40,000 square foot facility in Spring 2011. We want a fresh new look to match our new library and new website we're currently working on.
Our modern library carries more than just books, with music and books on CD, DVDs, audio and ebook downloads and other online research resources. We also have a local history room with newspaper archives, family histories and local resources. We do not want a logo that focuses solely on the book. The new library will also function as a cultural centre with art displays, meeting space and a large community room.
How do you want the layout of your logo to look?
An image or shape that is easily recognizable is used to represent your business.
An abstract shape or symbol is used to convey the values of your business.
Letters/initials from your business name are used to create a logo.
Representing trends from the internet including gradients, rounded corner etc.
