The Transition Expo
The Transition Expo is an interactive event (similar to a college fair) that matches students, families, and adult learners with programs, products, and services that support successful transitions into the next stage of life.
The Transition Expo focuses on the vast range of options for education, training, and career and requires that all exhibitors conduct interactive demonstrations vs. just handing out brochures for students to throw in a bag – we engage individuals with hands-on, industry-current educational and training programs in career-related fields of study based upon the U.S. Career Clusters Model.
Different than a typical college fair, The Transitions Expo emphasizes financial resources and support for attendees, We devote significant resources to attendee scholarship and financial aid matching efforts because achieving high admission and educational affordability rates enhances the ability of The Transition Expo to transform the lives of individuals.
Examples of past exhibitors include: NASCAR Technical Training Institute, Fashion Institute of Design, Art Institutes, Yale University, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Musician's Institute, Denver Zoo, U.S. Army, University of Pennsylvania, University of Colorado, Community College of Aurora, Cook Street School of Fine Cooking, Jones International University.
High School Administrators: High school administrators are instrumental in assisting to create personal transition plans for their students to move successfully from high school to post-secondary or career venues. The Transition Expo plays an important role in supporting goal attainment, identifying available resources, providing evidence to support the plan of action taken, and offering an evaluation component.
Students and Families: The Transition Expo supports a holistic approach to transition planning in which the student, parent, or mentor shares responsibility with school personnel to research, develop and execute the personal transition plan during high school.
I’d like a logo that:
◊ Looks a little “edgy”, appealing to high school students without offending educators. It’s important to convey that we help students and families through their difficult transition, but we don’t want to look like a typical education company using pencils, stars, or alphabet images, etc.
◊ Doesn’t look overly “business-like”, as educators don’t often trust business people and/or corporate America.
◊ Incorporates shades of blue and/or black...any other colors are fine, but we would like knock-your-socks-off palette.
◊ Symbolizes change if possible.
◊ Incorporates the tagline “Planning for Life. Not just College.”
◊ The contest will be posted on our website with the Contest Winner’s story and/or website featured.
