How Lily Grant started their logo design journey

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a husband-wife team who are just opening up our flower business in the neighborhood where we live, after noticing there was no flower shop on our side of the river (West Baton Rouge Parish in Louisiana). We specialize in funerals and sympathy work but also sell potted plants and fresh flower arrangements to make your girlfriend or mother smile.Through our business we want to touch, celebrate and soothe people's lives in all of life's occasions, both happy and sad.
We are looking for a relatively clean-cut logo which is both recognizable and warm.We are not a high-end boutique so do not want it to convey luxury. We cater to neighborhood folk, aiming to brighten up the day of anyone who walks through our colorful shop. Therefore, a friendly (but not too juvenile/cartoony), modern, recognisable, colourful logo is what we are after. Our values are affordability, quality, respect and empathy.

Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We sell a lot of Bromeliad plants and we quite like them - they are colourful, warm plants just like our shop and perhaps they may be incorporated as a logo. But feel free to use other flower designs such as roses, carnations, lilies, callas, orchids etc. You may also want to play on the spray theme: we create a lot of standing sprays and casket sprays that are wonderful cascading or spreading-out flower arrangements. Another theme you can play on is the fact that there are two of us, husband and wife florists. We are looking for distinctiveness and originality.
