We are taking over an existing child care center. Yay!
We will be creating a soft, friendly, educational environment. Somewhere a mum can leave her child and know that they will be loved and looked after.
We will have a focus on the natural, organic things of life, not the bright and flashy.
We're Christian, which is something that will be at the core of what we do but which needs only subtle reference (probably to be led by the existence of "Angel" in the business name).
Although it's a business, we want a casual "extended family" appeal. Not too corporate.
Parents (mostly Mums) of children aged 0 to 5, also considering what mums _think_ appeals to kids (I don't think a 3 year old will care what the logo looks like!).
There's a great deal of cultural diversity (Sudanese, Afghani, Asian...) so the design must have broad appeal to mums of all description...
I've got some design skills, but it just takes me to long to get there - I need your expert designs and ideas. So although we still want your talent to shine, we'd rather end up with 50 great options than 10 slick designs that may or may not hit the mark.
|| Use ||
Signage, printed materials, website
|| Elements to work with ||
Wings and Halo (subtle - we're not the baseball team :)
Business name - Mel's Angels
Classic elements (square, circle, triangle)
|| Colors to work with ||
Preferred: Soft pink and blue (doesn't have to be baby blue&pink... you could warm them up or drop saturation)
Optional: yellow, deep purple. We don't want too many colors though.
Ideally the logo(type) can work on both light or dark backgrounds.
|| Vector, not Raster ||
We'd love a logo element that can stand by itself when required - simple enough to make a stamp or hole punch to mark the childrens artwork with.
Print file format preferred - .ai (CMYK)
Also acceptable - layered .psd (RGB)
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
|| Our Identity must be ||
Playful, Friendly, inviting
Professional but not slick, cold or corporate.
Soft and loving.
Clever and subtle, not "in your face".
|| Font ||
Nobody will use comic sans :)
If you do use a font, make sure it's not an expensive commercial one I'll be sued over. Please tell us the font name.
