Alaska Waste provides refuse services to over 70,000 customers across Alaska. We haul trash for both residential and commercial customers. We have also begun a number of waste diversion services that we are hoping to advertise with a unique logo. These include a curbside recycling service, a commercial composting service, and a program that converts used cooking oil into biodiesel. We would like to let consumers know that we are not just a trash company and that environmental stewardship is one of our highest priorities.

Residents of Anchorage, Alaska who may be interested in our services. We envision this logo eventually going on the side of our trucks as advertisements for our waste diversion services.
We are looking for a logo to complement, not replace, our current company logo. This logo will specifically represent our environmental stewardship/waste diversion programs: our recycling service, our composting pilot program, and our cooking oil to biodiesel conversion program.
The logo should be something simple with a maximum of three colors that could easily be reproduced on a large object like a truck, but could also work as a letterhead. The logo should compliment our current company-wide logo. (http://www.alaskawaste.net/images/steve_logo.jpg)
This logo should either be a single image in which the text “recycling,” “composting,” or “biodiesel” could be interchangeably placed, or a logo combining all three waste diversion concepts.
Here are some sample ideas for the environmental stewardship logo that we came up with: http://www.alaskawaste.net/examples.htm
Don't feel at all constricted to something resembling these logo ideas, they're just there to show that we want something with a simple, easily scalable image in a limited color palette. The text on the samples is probably too long to be legible at many different sizes.
We are looking forward to seeing your design ideas!
