Design a modern high impact logo for a kids basketball foundation

The organization is a not for profit for elite youth basketball players looking to improve academics, athletics, and life skills to achieve college scholarships.

Please see the attached logo. That has been the logo for 10+ years. The logo concept was supposed to play off the foundation's principles of helping kids to set the bar high, then set it higher and then find a way to get over that high bar. Find a way to get it done. That's the dot at the top. What we're really looking for is more of a Nike or Under Armor or Adidas simple logo. We want to keep the concept of setting the bar high and finding a way to get over the high bar. We're looking at the possibility of moving to more of a royal blue or powder blue instead of being closer to navy blue. It is not important to get the name of the foundation in the logo. Initially we were going for slashes for the "bars" ... almost like we were ripping a canvas and then dotting the top of it. The result looked more like a kid than we intended. We have run into similar logos in several cases and are looking for something that is clean and simple and uniquely our own. It should stand out and represent us.
