We need to have a logo developed for a new dating site that will be geared towards environmentalists, health food lovers, "save the planet" folks, etc.
First of all, don't bother to look at PlanetEarth.net right now. It's pointed at another site I own, which has nothing to do with this project.
We are creating a new English language dating site geared towards the environmentalist, new age, healthy eating, "save the planet," liberal crowd.
Needed is a cool, new, modern, "Earthy," international, logo, which will of course set the tone for the look and feel of the site itself.
Have a look at the current layout of our home page. Don't let the colors influence you. Your design will set the stage for the colors we end up using throughout the site.
Earthy colors are probably the right direction, but I'm open to some progressive colors as well (read into that whatever you wish)...
We expect to award the winning prize within 1 week after the end of the competition.
I'm going to give you folks some freedom of creativity.
The logo should probably contain a globe (either realistic or surreal), along with something that indicates this is a dating, romance, people connecting site.
I've seen globes modified into the shape of a heart, so that's an option...
It should incorporate the domain name, especially the ".net" to differentiate us from the .com, which we have no connection with.
Logo orientation should be landscape considering it will be located across the top of the site. Perhaps minor variations can turn it into a vertically oriented logo for other purposes... open to suggestions.
Format: Photoshop and/or Illustrator files. If you provide a photoshop file, I want enough resolution so that I have freedom to do with it as I please. Bigger originals are better.
Added after #27: Two things I would like to see someone create... (1) use a photo realistic globe and (2) add some kind of radiating circles around the globe to give the impression the globe is, well, radiating...
Well, I don't want to put too many restrictions on your creativity.
Since this is a website logo, and we don't have lots of space... don't make it too complicated.
Avoid fonts that are hard to read at low resolutions.
Avoid looking toooo luvy duvy or cutesy, if you get my drift.
