We connect designers, users of 3D printers and consumers together. We provide the files guaranteed to print on your 3D printer, a network of designers who can design any product you need, and a network of 3D printer users who can print your product for you.
The name Solidafide comes from the Latin definition Solida - perfect, real, lasting, three dimensional and Fide - confidence, trust, belief, faith, loyalty, honesty.
About the owners:
We are three defense contractors who want to make the world a better place. Tired of the slow moving bureaucracy inherent to government work and not feeling full filled, we first read about 3D printing prosthetics for the disabled. Reading this article we realized the potential of 3D printing and wanted to be a part of this growing industry.
Mr. M has 22 years’ experience in Project Management and Engineering including Parts Design, Fabrication and Prototyping, Systems Engineering, Ship Specifications, Design Review, Ship Conceptual Design, Finite Element Analysis, Ship Structures, Cost Based Business Case Analysis, Product Lifecycle Business Case Analysis and Sensitivity Analysis. Mr M is a Senior Engineering Supervisor in the Washington DC. Mr M is a hands-on engineer with a BS degree in aerospace and ocean engineering from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and BA in business economics from St Mary’s College of Maryland. Mr. M has worked in the photography industry, computer industry, residential construction, machine shop, and most recently as a defense contract engineer for the US Navy. As part of his career as a defense contractor Mr. M has conceptualized, designed, prototyped and installed components and systems on various US Navy ships.
Mr. K is a disabled veteran and a leading security professional with broad domestic and international experience identifying vulnerabilities and protecting People, Physical Assets, and Information from inadvertent loss, theft, assault, product tampering, espionage, sabotage or financial loss. Mr. K currently provides security and risk management services for the U.S. Navy's Naval Systems Engineering Directorate and The Naval Surface Warfare Centers. Mr K served as a Special Agent in the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). He served in the United States Army and has graduated from several U.S. Army Schools, including Advanced Infantry, Airborne, Special Forces and Assessment and Selection, Air Assault, and Pathfinder. Additionally, Mr. K has attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center – Criminal Investigative Training Program, and dozens of Diplomatic Security Training Center schools, including Weapons of Mass Destruction (detection, defense, and decontamination), Protective Security Operations, Residential Security, Criminal Investigations, and Explosive Countermeasures. In addition to this experience Mr K graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing from Towson University.
Mr. L has a BS in Ocean Engineering Mr. L has 7 years of experience in Naval Architecture and Engineering including part and assembly design / prototyping and fabrication; structural design, analysis, and testing; computer programming; and cost-based business case analysis (BCA). Mr. L has developed C++ and C# console, WinForms / WPF GUI, and Windows service programs; utilized SQL, SQL CE, MS Access, and XML data storage methods, as appropriate; is familiar with WPF MVVM, ADO.NET, the Entity Framework (including Code First), WCF, and ASP.NET MVC. He also uses VBA in MS Word, Excel, and Access, as necessary.
