NoviStretch Design Brief
We are seeking a graphic identity (logo design with accompanying color palette and font recommendations) for NoviStretch™; a Brand for a line of vehicle protective covering products.
Product Description (Products Images Attached):
NoviStretch is the parent Brand that represents a growing line of protective covering products.
The NoviStretch Brand currently consists of the following products designed specifically for late model Corvettes and Camaros (note: images included/attached):
• NoviStretch Bumper Mask
• NoviStretch Mirror Cover
This product line will also be expanded beyond automotive, based on the same underlying, proprietary concept and design, utilizing stretchable fabric as protective covering and easy/quick install hardware. So, please NO automotive exclusive designs.
The products provide paint finish protection from road grime, bugs, bird droppings, tree sap, etc.
Product Features and Components:
NoviStretch products are unique in that that they are made from a Spandex-type stretch fabric whereas most competitive product is created from vinyl, leather or applied adhesive film.
In addition, NoviStretch products are designed for quick and simple installation and removal, requiring no alteration to the customer’s vehicle or special tools.
NoviStretch products offer the following distinct product features, or USPs (Unique Selling Points) versus other products and competition in the market place:
o Tight Fit - - Stretchable fabric application allows for tight, contoured fit around front bumper and/or side-mirror.
o Protective - - Durable, breathable fabric protects painted surface without damaging clear-coat paint finish.
o Compact size and Washable - - Stretchable fabric application allows for easy cleaning, maintenance and compact storage when not in use.
o Easy installation and removal - - A snap-screw, or “sleeve design” application allows for quick and easy installation and removal of mask with no cutting or drilling required.
Why the Product is needed:
Performance vehicles are a sizeable investment. Protection and care of this investment is a key concern for their owners. The exterior paint of these vehicles is subject to wear and damage even under normal operating conditions.
Current protective covering solutions are constructed from vinyl, leather or an applied protective film. These solutions can be large, bulky, difficult to install, hard to remove, poor fitting (which can damage vehicle), can require permanent alteration to the vehicle from drilling or cutting and can be expensive.
Brand Name Origin
NoviStretch is comprised of the prefix “Novi” meaning “new” inferring innovation, and "Stretch" which communicates the primary design component of the product which leads to its benefits and difference in the marketplace.
Our consumer research has indicated that this name conveys a sense and impression of innovation and ease of use among our target audience.
The NoviStretch Brand focuses on the following values in functionality, design and voice:
o Simplicity - - as seen in ease of use and uncomplicated components
o Durability - - the products key value is providing protection and long product life
o Contemporary - - the products represent innovation and the utilization of best practices and materials to provide a superior solution.
o Quality - - our products are engineering and design focused, manufactured in small batches domestically to ensure high quality workmanship and long product life.
Target Audience / Market Research
Focus Group ad Survey research among the target audience, yielded (not surprisingly the following results):
• The most important factors in their purchase decision are (in order):
o Level of Protection provided by the product
o Material Used in Manufacture of the product; as informs level of protection and durability
o Ease of use and installation.
o Male, between that ages of 40-69, with a college degree, making around $100,000 a year.
We are looking for a logo design for the core/parent Brand: NoviStretch
o We will want print and screen quality files of the final approved logo in both color and b&w.
o We would also like a recommendation from the winning designer for a color-palette to accompany the final logo for future design projects.
o We would also like a recommendation from the winning designer for 3-5 commonly available typefaces/fonts for future design project copy, headlines, subheads, etc.
o The core logo should be for the NoviStretch Brand, not each individual product (i.e. NoviStretch Mirror Cover, NoviStretch Bumper Mask, etc.).
o However, while Logos will be judged on the merit of the individual core design, as well as the ability of the logo to adapt to individual products (i.e. NoviStretch Mirror Cover, NoviStretch Bumper Mask, etc.) and should indicate how the individual product may be treated.
o Note: while the current product line is automotive, the Brand is not exclusively in the automotive category and in the future will cover products in the marine, motorcycle and outdoor categories.
o Logo will need to be scalable and readable in executions as small as product labels up to large format print advertising and event signage.
