Create the next logo for Hii Dunia

Hii Dunia (www.hiidunia.com) is a not for profit website dedicated to Global Development. It is a place where students, academics, NGO/Aid workers and anyone with an interest can share their papers, reports and research - work that might not otherwise not be published. It is also a growing information exchange with the webs largest list of links to other Development sites and a planned aggregation page to other Development news and information. There is also an iPhone app on the way!

Hello, We are seeking a look and feel that will sit well with a contemporary education/information sharing setting, as the main readership are primarily students and academics, NGO/Aid workers and anyone with an interest in the Global Development sector. The demographic range of our readers is otherwise mixed. Their values will broadly be left of centre / ‘citizens of the world’ and so a more contemporary look might suit this. We're open to any idea, but would like an adaptive logo. One that can be shortened or adapted to be used as a Facebook masthead (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hii-Dunia) and icon, on a highly read Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/hiidunia) and as an icon for an upcoming iPhone App. The font we currently use is Amasis but again we are open to changing this. We are open to changing our colors too from loosely green and black at present. These can stay put too should you feel it appropriate. The name Hii Dunia is Kiswahili meaning 'this World'. You may feel you might like to include slight African elements to your design. Our current slogan is "Sharing Ideas, Research and Experiences in Development" but this may change as the site upgrades to "Broadening Global Development Discourse" or "Broadening the Global Development Discourse" please feel free to alter these or include them if you feel it suits your design. We hope to stylise much of the site around your logo and color choice. However it will exist as it is for a few months with your new logo in pride of place.
