Project Summary: Your Landscape Coach is Jill Brown. Jill is a Landscape Architect who does online Landscape Coaching for homeowners. She has a blog about Living Outdoors, Sustainable Design, Places to Play and Building Community. The existing website is geared toward a residential audience. It offers tips and stories on how to make things look nicer so you can do more with your yard. My overall business is called Brown, green and more (BGM). I now see this as traditional landscape architecture whereas yourlandscapecoach.com is my Landscape Coaching site/online design site. Presently, they are the same website. The immediate goal is to build up my fan base/page views/etc so I can gather a group of folks who have garden needs that I can help with by creating and selling online products and services. In order to do this I need to nail the brand, then create the products. (the overall brand/tagline/graphics is what I am struggling with) Longterm goal is I would like to be known as The Landscape Coach. I envision the landscape coach as this friendly, personable lady who chats with you about your yard. (Usually when I do these chats with my existing clients I hear, Wow, this is amazing, I would have never thought of that, I love that idea, yes, that is what I was trying to figure out.) I would also like to focus on general landscape design and sustainable design. (I especially see a market in low water use landscapes/native landscapes in markets such as California. I’ve been designing this way for years so it only makes sense to focus on this sector of the market.) Target Audience: I have Two target audiences Online: equally male and female 25-35yr olds first time homeowners, lived in home around 2-3 years and thinking about their outdoor spaces. Know the value of professional design, know they can’t organize it alone but they can build it themselves. Love pinterest, know what they like but don’t know how to organize it. Find value is professional design. These folks are also looking to do something outside of the traditional lawn out of necessity due to local droughts. 50+ female empty nesters, typically know they want a plan but no one seems to call them back. They Like my energy and enthusiasm about design. I remind them of their kids sometimes. Need a plan and eventually need someone to build it. Typically they buy a Landscape Coach plan then move into hour consulting during construction. Other information about my clients: 90% of them go to their yard to relax. 40% of them think about their yard everyday. And the biggest concern you have with your yard is dealing with weeds. Perception/Tone/Guidelines: Professional, sustainable, fun, smart, loose but not hippy dippy, strong design. Fresh and conversational tone. Communication Strategy: Online communication with some local design. Website will initially be content via blog and partnering with other bloggers with complimentary ideas. I eventually want to do a few welcome videos, intro video and how to videos. More related to how to design then how to build. Design is my strength along with how to strategize and solve a problem. Competitive Positioning: I’m not aware of many if any competitors. (aside from someone’s friend who has a nice garden or the guy down the street who mows the lawn). What we offer is something unique, a professional design brought to the people. So everyone can have good design, great outdoor spaces and live longer Happier healthier lives. (who wouldn’t want that, right?) Single-Minded Message: innovative communication Creating spaces you want to live in. Designing outdoor spaces. Turning dirt into design. Organizing your land. For you to ENTERTAIN your friends, RELAX in your garden, GROW your own food, PLAY with your kids, and BUILD relationships with your neighbors. It's NOT SETTLING for a lesser garden than you can dream up. Now YOU CAN HAVE THE TOOLS to design your perfect outdoor space. The Brown, green & more logo below is the one I use for my traditional landscape architecture design firm. This new logo I am looking for I'd like to represent the brand, mylandscapecoach.com, where I do online landscape coaching. It is web based and more of a casual, accessible, blog type of brand. I would like it to incorporate some of my existing logo. The existing logo has images that reflect people, sustainable, and growing. I'd like the new logo to represent coaching people with a little landscape theme. I'm uploading images and graphics that I currently use in my business so you have a sense of my style. I'd like this next logo to have a more professional web business look. (I hope that all makes sense)
