The contest had many great options; over 300 design entries and MiliDlidir was very creative and communicated well. Thank you!

Centre for Virus Research HPC
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Established in 2010, the Centre for Virus Research (CVR) represents the UK’s largest group of human and veterinary virologists. Located in the Sir Michael Stoker Building, the University of Glasgow’s dedicated home for providing a unique research environment for both young and established scientists, the overall aim of this group is to apply a holistic approach to virology.
As part of their mission to carry out fundamental research on viruses and viral diseases the team has recently acquired a Cryo Transmission Electron Microscope (cryo-TEM). This microscope uses a beam of electrons to examine the structures of molecules and materials at the atomic scale. This process reveals much finer detail than even super-resolution light microscopy and represents the cutting edge science the CVR hopes to continue.
As the information gathered from cryo-TEM is at a large scale the CVR team utilises High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters to process and store the information the microscope gathers. (For information about HPC clusters see: https://insidehpc.com/hpc101/intro-…-cluster/) The team runs a series of workstations and clusters, and as part of this acqusition and major uplift we would like to create a logo for Centre for Virus Research HPC. Our hope is to reflect not only our cutting edge work in virology, but to showcase our capabilities within HPC and to demonstrate our desire to lead in this space.
