Mike Presz got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a high end logo for a landscaping business

High Tech Landscaping
We are a landscaping business. We want to change the LANDSCAPING text to HIGH TECH LANDSCAPING. I can probably do that after final designs but it would be great if I could see it incorporated in versions now. One key differentiation is our higher end experience and want to communicate it in our logo if it works.

The "Blooms" word may work better in green
I was thinking that Augusta would be a bolder/fixed part of the logo while "Blooms" would be integrated into/around Augusta (without obscuring it). And, possibly, a picture/graphic may be worked into Blooms (maybe flowers budding or other visual displaying growth/vitality). However, I would like the designers to have the freedom to explore their own ideas. The concept and business is pretty simple. It's Augusta Blooms Landscaping. However, I DO want the logo to have an upscale/high end feel. I like simple logos that are easy to read and quickly convey what the business is all about (thus making it easy to remember). The user takeaway "sound bite" should be that it's an upscale landscaping business with a picture in their mind of spring/growth/vitality (i.e. their yard looking beautiful). I think the hard part will be trying to make the visual part of "Blooms" stand out yet maintain a luxury/high end feel. If it's just blossoms then it will look too artsy/low end. I'm not even sure it's doable but that's why all designers should explore their own ideas to convey what I'm hoping to achieve: again, a logo that conveys an upscale landscaping business and paints a picture in the viewer's mind of spring/growth/vitality (i.e. their yard/home/whatever looking beautiful).
