wishwave / wishwave.com
We are looking for a LOGO for wishwave.com – a website that matches people’s everyday needs with both skilled and non-skilled service providers that may fulfill these needs (and the other way round too).
A few examples include personal trainer, personal chef, accountant, etc. However, please note that the overall scope of service provision is much broader than the aforementioned examples so do not focus on any specific services when you design the logo. It’s more about the CONCEPT of this website rather than the services themselves.
Concept-wise, we want the user to believe that s/he can simply come to the website with whatever need (i.e. “wish”) in mind, bottle the wish, and then cast it away into the cyberspace (i.e. “wave”) for someone to answer the wish. It’s about matching people’s needs efficiently and making people’s lives easier.
Initially, the website targets at working professionals and young couples (25 to 40 years old) as well as service providers they may need in their everyday lives. Eventually, the target audience will include other age groups as well.
The logo should consist of both a graphic presentation and the brand name. Ideally, the two should be separable but we are open to the designer’s creative ideas.
In terms of the graphic presentation, it should include the two key elements in the brand name – wish & wave. The design (1) should help set the tones of the overall website design and (2) will be used as a unique and visually recognizable icon on business cards, letterhead, presentation slides, etc.
Further elaboration of the two elements is shown as follows. Please note these general guidelines should by no means limit the designer’s creativity.
Wish: please use a warm color, such as maize or orange. Please be creative in what you think represents a wish graphically.
Wave: please use a cool color, such as indigo or navy blue (a few shades lighter should be fine too). Some common associations include ocean, wave, etc – something that transcends geographic boundaries.
Style: clean, crisp, cool, contemporary, consumer-oriented, cute but NOT too cartoonish.
Font: round, modern-looking fonts are preferred. We want to use only small letters. In addition, there are two Ws in the brand name, which may provide room for creative ideas.
Format: the final design should be delivered in the Adobe Illustrator file format.
