We are looking for a logo that feels: clean, creative, and confidence-inspiring. Our clients hire us for 3 reasons: 1) because we deeply understand the nonprofit sector and are able to nimbly evaluate a field, create a campaign, and customize the language and tone to any sector for the public good; 2) because our work product is always ahead of schedule and unparalleled; and 3) because they feel like they are getting top-notch for-profit-equivalent support. Therefore, it is critical that the matterlab brand not FEEL non-profity (which is often synonymous with: not super serious, not super professional, do gooder, not metric-driven, nice-to-have stuff). We want our brand to feel friendly but not playful.
Right now, we envision the logo being a treatment of:
- All lowercase
- Period at the end*
- No tagline
- No logomark/shape/graphic component*
*We are somehwhat flexible on these two items - we really do envision having the period, so please attempt that but if you have a stellar idea for something better, we want to see it. We are not big fans of iconography alongside logos, at least for our purposes, so even less-so interested in that one, but again - sometimes 'designer knows best.'
