JA garden design got their new logo & business card by running a design contest:
Create a stylish logo and business card for an upcoming garden designer

I am a sole trader offering a design service to people who want their gardens redesigned. I do the design and a separate contractor would do implement it. So I am the equivalent of the architect for a garden.
Other color requirements
probably subtle colours - green, cream, pinkish perhaps? Open to suggestion
UPDATE NB - IDEALLY I WANT PART OF THE DESIGN TO BE THE SMALL GRAPHIC LOGO THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE WRITING, WHICH I CAN INCLUDE IN THE TEXTBOX AT THE BOTTOM OF ALL MY GARDEN DESIGN DRAWINGS. THE BEST DESIGNS SO FAR ARE THOSE WHICH OFFER SUCH A LOGO, BUT ALSO INTEGRATE IT WITH THE NAME FOR THE BUSINESS CARD. I want something that looks stylish, clean, simple, and modern. I suggest the logo be based on some sort of plant image ideally a grass such as the miscanthus shown in the images below - one is a photo, the other has sketches I have done of the photo. Other grasses you could use are stipa, deschampsia - pics readily available on the internet. I want to convey a sense of lightness and movement with bending seedheads of grasses, perhaps flowing in a gentle breeze. I like the New Perennials style of Piet Oudolf which is based on perennials and grasses - also see images below to get an idea. I'm envisaging a design which either clevely uses the grasses together with the words of the business name, or sits alongside them. The business card I like most from those I have posted is the one at the bottom left which uses a pink leaf fashioned as a letter 'K'which is the first letter of the business name. [An alternative approach would be to base design round tree or leaves - I particularly like Liquidambar and japanese maples. But beware looking too static.] Also open to other suggestions.

And then… they selected a winner!
Ana is very easy to work with, and take instructions and refinements to the ideas well. She has a great eye for detail and her design aesthetic suits my project.
I will definately continue to work with Ana on this brand.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
