Commprise, Inc got their new illustration or graphics by running a design contest:
Mascot for "Tech to Us" - Tech Support for Your Home or Business
Check out Commprise, Inc's Illustration or graphics contest…
We are a remote technical support and IT services company. We provide support to both home users and small businesses.
What's your vision?
We are looking for a mascot for our company. It should go along with our existing logo and also be able to be used separately. What we are looking for is something that is completely unique. The mascot should be "cute" and modern but not goofy looking. It should not be childish or for kids. This isn't cartoon or animated series for kids. This is serious business that wants to show a friendly side. It has to appeal to the masses since we help consumers and businesses. It must relate to our overall brand. Our brand focuses on high quality US based tech support solutions for home and small businesses. As such, the demographic we cater to are usually older and less tech savvy home users and for businesses it's small organizations that don't have the need for a full time IT person or have limited IT to support that it does not warrant a full time IT person. Our brand style is modern, yet friendly. We are not a young person's brand as young people are typically not our customers. We have to be taken seriously, but also friendly and inviting. The mascot should convey all of this. It shouldn't be childish or oriented towards young people. It should convey trust and honesty as well. We just don’t want it to be generic. It has to be unique. Many brands have animals already. I think every animal on earth is probably already in some organization’s logo or a mascot. Please NO ANIMALS. However, it doesn’t need to be tech related either. In fact if it is tech related, it should only be related in more subtle ways. NO ROBOTS. NO ALIENS. What we are looking for is something that is completely unique. A creature or creation that is something of its own.
Some basic things we need to stick to: Flat design - no gradients As few colors as possible No 3D design - 2D only. No “rendered” looking mascot Less details are better. The more intricate the harder it will be to replicate on other forms of media. If the mascot couldn’t be fabricated into a costume someone could wear, then it’s not really a good mascot for us. This doesn't mean we are going to do this, but it speak to the kind of simplicity we are looking for. Nothing overly intricate. Detail is fine, but not to the extreme.
