We create mobile apps that make everyone's lives more enjoyable.
What's your vision?
We need a new icon for an application that we have had in the market for a while--gAdmin. The application allows Google Apps domain administrators manage the users in their domains, namely add new users, suspend, restore, and delete existing users, and reset passwords, among other things. A more detailed description of the app along with some screenshots are available in our website and the App Store, respectively: http://iteridea.com/gadminapp https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gadmin-administration-for/id446277741?ls=1&mt=8 You are free to be creative in every aspect of the icon. Basically we want an icon that clearly presents gAdmin as a Google Apps application an are open to your ideas. Also, take into consideration that since gAdmin is related to Google Apps, their branding guidelines must be taken into consideration when designing the new icon: http://reseller.googleapps.com/marketing/branding-assets/google-apps-branding-guidelines iOS icon requirements: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/IconsImages/IconsImages.html Summarizing, the icon sizes we need are: App icon for App Store (required for all apps) 1024 x 1024 512 x 512 App icon (required for all apps) 114 x 114 57 x 57 144 x 144 72 x 72 Small icon for spotlight 58x58 29x29 100x100 50x50 All icons must be square; the round corners are added automatically. Full transparencies (alpha 100%) can't be used because they are turned into black.
We attached an image with two icons for applications similar to ours. The icon on the left is for an Android app. This icon uses the same colors as the Google logo, and has a capital G inside a gear. Gears are often used by Google to represent "settings," as shown on the far right of the image. The icon on the middle is for an iPhone app. The company that made that app usually makes video games, hence the cartoon-like icon. This is an interesting icon, for it shows a friendly system administrator with a few servers in the background, all with green lights. What this application does is a bit abstract, so feel free to be creative and feel free to change our current icon completely. Obviously, we don't want an icon that looks a little bit too much like our competition's.
