Mobile and Web Applications
What's your vision?
I would like an icon designed for note taking application for iOS. This is basically one design that is required, but needs to be provided in various sizes (resolutions) (the required and recommended resolutions for iPhones and iPads). The app is not a "To Do" app. The unique twist of the application is that notes link to other notes very easily based on the content of the notes. If a note is mentioned in another note, buttons are automatically created in the new note that link to the other note. The benefit this has is, the common thread on your thoughts are automatically llnked to related material. Perhaps this information can be inspirational in the design of the icon... The application is an implementation of Tomboy (GNU, part of the Gnome project) for iOS. I want the icon to be justifiably original (modified works are considered original right?) but also it would be nice if the icon can be recognizably Tomboy. Tomboy icons usually use a yellow notepad. That is one concept. Another is the fact Tomboy art and codenames often are related to Tin-Tin the Dutch cartoon. The app will be likely named "Thomas". I would like the icon to eventually become the brand image. A cartoonish depiction of a man or boy, presumably named Thomas, I think might be good for this. The style would be the style of the cartoon Tin-Tin, but not a depiction of any of its characters. Can anyone do such a depiction? Creative freedom is mostly wide open, except with the above mentioned goals. (1) Identifiable as a note app (2) Identifiable as being related to Tomboy (3) Provided in the required and recommended resolutions for iPhones and iPads I am attaching one example icon. It is does not meet any of the resolution requirements. It is also licensed under LGPLv2.1 within the Tomboy GNU project, I believe. I am not requesting that the design be the same, or even similar to the attached icon. I am simply providing it because I happen to like it, it is very relevant to the application in question, and if I had it in the required resolutions I would probably use it. The art in the icon, because it is literally from the Tomboy project, meets the goal of being visually identifiable as related to the Tomboy project. However, because graphics work is required to meet resolution requirements, I would like work provided here to be considered an original work, even if only modified slightly more than recreating to meet resolution requirements.
