Davidkle got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Music App Icon for Mac
Check out Davidkle's Button or icon contest…
We make Mac OSX applications. Currently we have 3 apps; Alarm Pro, Red Alarm and iPaint. We are in the process of building a music app for Mac OSX. Please visit www.smartieants.com for more info.
What's your vision?
We want an icon for our up coming music app for the Mac. The app is called MiniTunes. It has the same look and feel as the native music player on an iPhone or an iPod, but it will be for the Mac. It is 480x320 (height by width) in size. It can be opened from the menu bar. The app can play all kinds of music and supports most sound file formats (mp3, wav, etc...) Requirements: - Must include a music note icon. See attached if you don't know what a music note is. You are not required to use the exact music note as depicted in the attachment. - The main color of the icon should be red, however you may choose a different color/theme if you think it is better - Maximize use of canvas space. For instance if the canvas size is 1024x1024, use as much of the space as possible. - Looks amazing in the dock of a Mac. - Must NOT look like the iTunes icon. - Be creative. - Please refer to the attachement for example icons of other applications. Your icon should be of the same quality or higher. Suggestions - We like cats so maybe you can do something like the SongBird logo, or maybe even something like the Napster icon (don't copy those icons, be original). - A black and white cat with big red or blue headphones is an idea. - We also like the look of message bubbles or chat icon. That could be an idea.
