Many websites and games use "badges" or awards to give credit for little achievements...
Here is a collage of several examples.
Usually, there is a NAME for the badge, and an iconic representation in the badge of what the achievement was for, and a brief description of what they did to earn it. For example:
Played the game every day for 1 week for at least an hour every day. (badge would show a needle)
We like the military "medal" idea, and have mocked up the kind of look we are aiming towards. However, we are open to any and all ideas, and will pick the winner we like best... So dont be afraid to try something totally outside the box.
The badges should be 50 pixels wide, and 100 tall.
What we have in mind:
The top half of each badge image will be the ribbon, while the bottom half will be the iconic medalion. It should appear to be metal or embossed like an actual military medal would be. But we are a fun, cool, simple game... not a WWII FPS, so style should reflect that.
Ribbons will be a variety of colors and stripes depending on what "type" of badge is earned. The medal area will be some sort of symbol or icon of what the specific achievement was. It can be embossed on a circle, or hang freely.
