Greens To Go
Celebrating Vegetables Since 1979
Greens Restaurant and our take-out Greens to Go has been serving and celebrating vegetables from our farm since 1979 -- pioneering vegetarian cuisine in America.
We have a very retro feel. We were opened by the San Francisco Zen Center in 1979 using all recyclable material and built by the hands of Zen Center students. We served vegetables from our farm, Green Gulch, and we are now looking to expand our take-out. We would like the Greens To Go logo to be recognizable (in that people associate it with Greens Restaurant) but also stand on its own -- we were hoping to emphasize the letters "G T G" so that people can start associating "GTG" as "Greens To Go." And we were hoping to incorporate parts of our restaurant's logo -- the all lowercase lettering, and our "oak leaf" abstract art, or what like to call the "duck feet" (but its really an ode to our vegetables). Also, we are still on the fence about our "slogan." The line, "Celebrating Vegetables" was taken out of a cookbook written by our Executive Chef, Annie Somerville. We love it for in-house purposes, and we have not really used it for marketing, but thought we could see how it looks.
