jeffic got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Design a print book cover for a surreal, otherworldly fantasy

Click. The shutter opens and light enters the photographer's camera: a snapshot, a single moment in time, captured once and immortalized forever. Like photography, flash fiction embodies the same fundamental principle. The writer takes up his or her pen, and an idea takes shape: a whirlwind encounter with the surreal and supernatural, an image to be replayed over and over in your imagination. Culled from his blog, and inspired by Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, and Helene Wecker, Jeff Coleman’s surreal and bite-sized ruminations on life and death, memory and faith, dreams and nightmares will take you on a journey through the cosmos, opening doors to the human psyche and revealing what lies beyond the familiar…
Lovers of surreal and otherworldly fantasy.
Book cover type
Something cosmic and otherworldly. The book's title and blurb play off the concept of snapshots, so something that also plays with the theme of photography would be a good idea. In addition to the e-book version, I need a version for both hardback and paperback. I've attached the templates (both PDF and inDesign) for each. The same design should be used for all three covers, and should fit both print templates.
What to avoid
Do not use free images of any kind. Only stock from Shutterstock will be accepted. Thank you! :)
