rchesson got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Design an ebook cover for a book about Evernote
Check out rchesson's Book cover contest…
This is for a book cover that is about Evernote, more details below. Target market is for adults of all ages that have a little bit of tech knowledge. So we aren't talking about grandmas or young children.
What's your vision?
We have a new ebook coming out that will be about "Evernote." Evernote is a free software that will help you to organize and become more efficient and effective. We are looking for you to make an eBook cover with the dimensions of 1563X2500. The deliverable will be in a .PSD file format and any fonts used, should be listed in a separate document. The Title of the Book is: Mastering Evernote Subtitle: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Evernote Target Market: Adults who have a little bit of tech savyness in them.
To me, a Title should be treated like a logo. One thing I don't like is when someone just uses a simple font and nothing else. It makes it look 2D and very much like a self-designed book...not a professionally designed book. Furthermore, I intend to write a couple more books on Evernote, but for a different niche. I would like to use the same title so that people know that I wrote all of them and that they are connected. The difference would be that I would use a different subtitle that discusses that particular niche. You don't have to use the Subtitle in the cover, but I would kind of prefer that you did. You can see a lot of different designs on amazon if you juts type in "Evernote" into the search bar. To help you have an idea of what I like, I will give a couple of examples and tell you what I think: 1. Evernote Essentials: I like it simplicity, but I don't like how his title is is very basic. 2. Evernote for your Life: I love how this feels as though it is 3 dimensional. Its simplistic and the font is very different with the cutout look. However, this feels a little too young. 3. Evernote Cracked: A nice cover in general, however the color is too light and it is hard to see the title...white and light lime green just don't contrast enough.
