Reclaiming Yourself within Narcissistic Abuse Recovery: A 7-Step Process to Escape Emotional Abuse, Gaslighting and Codependency and Rebuild a Spectacular New Life of Your Own
Annie Maine is an energy medicine practitioner and spiritual coach living in northern California. She helps clients recover and rebuild their self-esteem and self-love after emotional abuse.
The seven stages of recovery from narcissistic abuse recovery - realization, reckoning, running, reinforcing, releasing, rebuilding and regulating. The focus is on tools and attention on the victim's recovery, not on defining the abuser or the abuse. The book has energy medicine themes and highlights self-love as the main tool for healing, reclaiming their own soul, and finding freedom to create their own life.
Men and women who are recovering from narcissitic abuse. Many of them are in the early stages of realizing their situations and are seeking information and validation. Some are deeper into their journey, wanting deeper support and tools to aid them in learning new skills such a creating boundaries and healing weakened self-worth. Many have experienced this abuse in romantic relationships, some from parents, coworkers or children. Often adults from mid-20's to 60s.
I want to focus to mostly be on great font, great color, very clear and easy to read book cover. I'd like there to be a woven in image that symbolizes healing, breaking free, building a life of one's own, that is simple and built around the placement of the words. (see examples of book covers chosen) I want there to be a feeling of hope, healing, new growth. Something like a new sprout that grows out of a tight place, for example. Flowers growing out of compost (not this as an actual image on the book cover, just as a way to describe the metaphor of what I am looking for) I'd like positive, possibly abstract, imagery of rebirth, power and life found, bright new starts in survival....really beautiful things coming out of not so good things (restriction, pain, captivity, etc) with main focus on the rebirth part and not the captivity part (which is there but subtle and only referenced)
What to avoid
I'd like to avoid negative images of bondage and anything that focuses mainly on the bondage and trapped stage itself. (I want to focus on the growth)

Boja's was the first design submitted and remained my favorite through the whole contest. She created EXACTLY what I had invisioned, and I appreciated her artistry and communication SO MUCH. I would very much enjoy working with her again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
