TravelGuidesFree.com is a small, self-funded startup with a simple but profound idea... Give active travel planners the ability to have travel brochures and guidebooks shipped to their doorstep or inbox--All for Free. All the user has to do is enter their contact information and a mailing address and, voilah, free travel guides. Here's the thing: no one knows that this option is available to anyone that wants it. And it is. We just need you to 1)make users Aware that this is an option and 2)get them to our site to order brochures and guides.
We'd like to use the visual elements of TravelGuidesFree.com as the cornerstone of the design. If you think more/different colors and elements will be more effective, we'll listen, but what we have is working pretty well so far.
Early stage travel planners between the ages of 25-55. This service mainly appeals to women 35-55 but we're looking to expand on that. This isn't a risk taking audience that signs up for just anything. So we need to make the product look exciting yet secure.
When I say early stage, I mean users who haven't selected the destination that they want to visit yet. They're shopping around for cool places for the right price. The more they know, the better decisions they can make.
Keep in mind that the site only covers US destinations right now, mainly states. We'd like to feature a bunch of state names like Florida, Minnesota, California, Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, New York...etc.
The key ingredient here is creativity--your creativity. If you think that videos of people dancing in cublicles or dancing babies will make people aware of our service then great! I'm all ears. The best advertising ideas start from WAY out in space. So if you're into this project then do this....
2)take a breath,
3)look away from the computer, and
4)come up with some ideas. The crazier, the better.
Still here? If you still want to do it, come back to this page and read the boring ole details on the project (below). The key question is how we get people's awareness of the offer.
We want banner ads to promote the website. We'll need at least 300x250, 160x600 and, most importantly, 728x90 leaderboards. There does not HAVE to be animation but it's encouraged. We have a maximum file size of 40k or so 24 frames/ second Max. We need to be able to serve these banners in Google, Yahoo and all the other automated systems out there. So that standard specs apply. Let me know if you need them. We've found that subtle animations have been drawing more attention than bold, flashy animations. But it's up to you.
Do you need some copy to get you started? I'm open to yours but if you need some guidance, here you go. "looking for a trip to (scrolling wheel of states)? We've got ideas, advice, things to do. And it's All FREE. TravelGuidesFree.com--who knew? ORDER NOW."
